Financial Controller

COMPANY

Multinational organization operating in a dynamic and international environment, focused on operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement, is looking to strengthen its finance team by recruiting a Financial Controller. This role will support the Finance Director in all core finance activities, ensuring compliance with local regulations and alignment with Group reporting requirements.

CANDIDATE

The professional to be recruited will be responsible for:

• Performing daily accounting activities and ensuring the accuracy of financial records;
• Maintaining daily contact and communication with the Shared Service Center (SSC);
• Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities under tight deadlines;
• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring proper supporting documentation;
• Ensuring alignment between local accounting records and Group reporting standards;
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes;
• Preparing and submitting VAT, CIT, withholding taxes, SAF-T, and other statutory obligations;
• Ensuring compliance with Portuguese accounting standards (SNC);
• Reconciling accounts and following up on discrepancies, ensuring timely resolution;
• Supporting the preparation of IES and other annual statutory filings;
• Working daily with SAP (FI module) and reporting tools;
• Supporting data extraction and validation for reporting purposes;
• Preparing audit files and liaising with external auditors;
• Ensuring compliance with internal control procedures.

PROFILE

• Degree or Master’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Management, or a related field;
• 2–5 years of professional experience in a similar role, preferably within an accounting or consulting company;
• Strong knowledge of the Portuguese tax and accounting framework;
• Proficiency in MS Office tools, particularly Excel (e.g., pivot tables);
• Experience with SAP S4/Hana (preferred);
• Fluent in English (mandatory); Spanish is a plus.
